UPDATE: you've been amazingly generous -- thanks!

The surplus from our collections this year are going to help two young people from E.Africa to get to World Youth Day in Australia (see below and next page). They could not dream of doing this without your help. What they will learn there will make them leaders and agents of change for the future back in their own place. We hope to maintain a relationship with their group.

At First Sunday in April the collection was £318.86 and at Third Sunday it was £90.46. We can remit at least two-thirds of this to E.Africa. Your remarkable support has meant that, with only half the year gone, we were able last month to remit £848.72. to them.

THANKS!

First Sunday PLUS charity:

How did the FS Charity begin? At our First and Third Sunday Young Adult masses, there is usually a collection to cover costs of using the Farm St. Church (we're guests there!) and of printing the leaflet, building up a music collection and other costs. But when we realised that people were being more generous that we needed them to be, we decided to devote the surplus to a charity cause. It seemed best to choose a beneficiary that is closely associated with what we do, or that involves some of our regular young adult worshipping community.
